I like how you are able to give some structure to the craziness that’s happening with AI right now and I agree with Peter Thi, there’s a lot of political implications for the younger generations who have been left out of participating in capitalism.
With AI becoming a more “strategic” and nationalized US industry (almost like agricultural and military industry are already subsidized / nationalized), perhaps more overall population serving concepts for AI are happening at the right time with the government stepping in to backstop supposed free markets.
Sort of 2 opposing forces in my mind that I’m taking away from the roundup this week.
Common, lower income vs. priviliged, higher income.
Both teams are looking to fight for control.
Common people being stupid have no idea that the real estate of the future may not be “real” in terms of land.
In my mind what is happening now is actually truly the American way to deal/battle/politic and divvy up the new frontier that AI represents.
I guess we’ll see how things play out but I’d imagine the government is the only thing that can actually negotiate some kind of fair playing field for everyone to compete in some way with the massive disruption AI will bring.
Good stuff
Glad to see you posting again!
Really enjoy these roundups.
